Description
Lecturers are required to maintain a professional appearance, general decorum and behavior that conform to their professional status. Lecturers will be responsible for the followings.
- Should believe in personal responsibility and accountability.
- To disseminate knowledge and enhance the reputation of the TUF by:
- Establishing contacts with the wider academic community
- Participating in seminars
- Delivering conference presentations
- Organizing conferences/events where appropriate
- Engaging with events of interest to alumni and the wider public.
- Maintain high ethical standards in all professional activities.
- Do not show any biasness/discrimination among the students. Papers should be marked without looking at student’s name.
- Course content should be explained with the help of practical example.
- Sudden presentation techniques should be adapted to check the student’s level of attention and learning.
- To engage in examining duties, i.e. the production of exam questions/papers, exam marking and moderation.

- Be professional in conduct in the class room and show respect for the students.
- Provide a motivating and stimulating learning environment for students in the lecture room.
- Prepare course outlines well in time.
- Conduct instructions so as to meet course objectives.
- Maintain competence in teaching.
- Pursue a variety of methodology in instructional studies using state of art teaching aids.
- Make known to students the goals and requirements of each course, the nature of the course content and the methods of evaluations to be employed.
- Meet classes as scheduled.
- Be available to students for consultation on course work during regular university timings.
- Engage in academic activities according to requirements and work cooperatively with colleagues to further the mission of the University.
- Perform research and development activities pertaining to courses and instructional program.
- Work for own development as teacher (Verbal and written Communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and any other).
- Render professional advice to University authorities on professional matters.
- Make appropriate use of University resources.
- Perform a variety of non-instructional duties as assigned by the authorities from time to time.
- Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedure of student’s evaluation and attendance.
- Demonstrate gains in student performance.
- Meets professional abilities through effective work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating.
Requirement
PhD/MS/MPhil in given disciplines with teaching experience as per HEC criteria.
